Group runs or mini-races set up by group members.We will be doing a 4.52 mile run in the Dells area. Just Under 400 ft elevation gain. It will be a no left behind run and we will stop at all trail intersections. I will put the start coordinates in a message separately. Please bring a light. Taco Tuesday after the run.

Hey everyone, Cindy and I are hosting a PATR holiday party on December 13th at 5:30pm at our Condos. Your spouse or significant other and kids are invited as well. We will have an adult elephant gift and kids elephant gift exchange. $15-20 gift. We will have some food and drinks but would love for people to bring a dish or beverages to share. If you would like, bring your swim suits for the hot-tub. Please RSVP and I will send the address.

My birthday wish is to move vert club to Bean Peaks for one day. There is a section of trails that allows non-bikers to enjoy. It is a total of 6.5 miles out and back. I posted the GPX file under files for PATR.

Join us for the Launch Pad’s 7th Annual Christmas City Santa Run, Presented by Kimley-Horn, and Sponsored by Yavapai Regional Medical Center, The Northrup Family, Great Circle Media - 93.9 The Mountain and 92.9 KAFF Country, Foothills Bank, Sparklight Advertising, Koolwater Landscaping/Santa’s Helpers Outdoor Decorating, Prescott Woman Magazine, Dr. Cindy Rollins PLLC, and on Saturday, December 13, 2025. This 10k, 5k and 1-mile fun run at Brownlow Trail will raise funds to support out of school drop-in and leadership programs at The Launch Pad Teen Center.
Register for the 10k or 5k and receive a Santa Hat, Beard, and commemorative Santa Run ornament (We do encourage you to run in full Santa Gear…you could win a prize), or register yourself or your little one for the Rudolph Run and get a set of antlers and a red nose! There will be a cookie, hot cider and cocoa booth hosted by Foothills Bank at the beginning and end of the race, and a prize of an Ugly Sweater for 1st and 2nd place 10K and 5K runners in both the women’s and men’s groups.
Things to Know Before Registering:
The Brownlow Trail is super fun with rolling hills, fun turns, and beautiful scenery, but it would be tough to run with a stroller. If you are thinking of bringing your kiddo(s) in a stroller, come and check out the race course in advance.
Sunday, December 14th will be the second of three training runs leading up to the 2026 Black Canyon Ultras. Each run will be minimally supported, minimally marked and point to point. We will have shorter options at each. Here is information for those of you wanting to join on this first training run:

The run will start at approximately 7:45-8:00 am from Bumble Bee.
Driving Directions:
Directions to Black Canyon City TH (end of run, park here to carpool to Bumble Bee)
- Take exit 242 off the I-17 towards Rock Springs / Black Canyon City
- Turn left at the stop sign onto Velda Road Road
- Turn right at the next stop sign onto the Old Black Canyon Highway and then an immediate left onto Warner Road towards the Black Canyon City Trailhead
- Follow Warner Road for 0.3 miles to the trailhead and aid station. There is a restroom located at this trailhead. There are also dining options and a General Store in Rock Springs and some more options a couple miles north on the Old Black Canyon Highway in Black Canyon City as well as a gas station.
Directions to Bumble Bee (start of run): - Drive north from Phoenix on the I-17 Freeway
- Take exit #248 towards Bumble Bee / Crown King
- Turn left and drive 2.1 miles on pavement (road descends downhill)
- Turn right at the bottom where it turns to dirt and take Crown King Road for 3.0 miles and park just past the bridge on the left hand side of the road.
Format:
This is a no fee, limited aid, limited course marking training run. You must plan to be self sufficient in terms of navigation, personal safety and aid between stations. We may drop water at the Gloriana Mine TH at mile 4.5 and have water and food at mile 12.8 (Soap Creek). Please study the maps in this post and follow signage for the Black Canyon Trail.
Markings:
The course on principle will be unmarked. There is signage for the Black Canyon Trail at most questionable junctions, but we recommend studying and printing maps to bring with you.
Post Run Gathering:
Bring a camp chair, some snacks and BYOB if you enjoy a Sunday Funday Post-Run hang.

Prepare to be THRILLED at the kick off race of the 25/26 DRT Series, Cave Creek Thriller!
The Cave Creek Thriller plays host to 4 different distances with the 50K and 24K options exploring the Maricopa Trail in point-to-point races before finishing inside Cave Creek Regional Park. The 11K and 5K distances stay entirely within Cave Creek Regional Park on hilly and pristine mountain trails. Portions of the trail are steep, rocky, with great views of the expansive Sonoran Desert.

Sunday, January 25 will the the third and final preview run for the upcoming 2026 Black Canyon Trail 100K. This section will resume from the Black Canyon City Trailhead and continue to head south towards New River & Phoenix. We’ll head back into the canyons and across several more creeks before the trail generally becomes flatter towards the finish at Emery Henderson Trailhead.
