PATR Events
Group runs or mini-races set up by group members.PLEASE READ THIS DESCRIPTION. For this week we will run the side trails around Willow Lake. There are a lot of side trails through that most people never run. Jim mapped out about 5.2 miles from the dog park. It is through some trees and very close to the lake. We will cover 3 sides of Willow Lake on mostly flat trails. This is a no-drop group run and we will stop at every intersection and allow everyone to catch up before we continue running - all paces welcome :) We will meet at the trailhead by the dog park off of Willow Creek Rd. Vert club does loops at Thumb Butte. We go up the paved side on the left and down the dirt side on the right. Each loop is just a tad under two miles. Parking is free on Wed. Bathroom at the trailhead

Jim is one of the volunteers who works on creating trails and will be taking us for a run on some of the new additions near the Peavine and Gateway trails! Expect a a nice combination of trees, hills, granite and main trails. No drop run (we stop for everyone at every intersection). Come out and visit the Whiskey Row aid station for Cocodona 250. We can answer questions, give you a quick nickel tour, or put you to work ringing a cowbell. We would love to see you, so please visit us. We love dogs, but must follow a no-dogs-allowed policy for the aid station.
For this run we will start by Watson Lake which is along the Cocodona route as the race is happening. This is a no-drop group run, and we will stop at every intersection to allow everyone to catch up before continuing the run. Expect 5-6 miles. Various terrain and scenery, including running through some parts of the dells. Parking at the trailhead by the human society. We will meet at Lower Parking lot along Iron Springs, where Spence Springs Rd meets Iron Springs (trailhead). 5:30pm. Expect 4-6 miles. No drop run (we stop for everyone at every intersection). If the parking lot is full - plan to park across Iron Springs road in the open dirt area. We will meet up at the Spence Springs trailhead. Bring water :)

events not too far away, not directly PATR affiliated, but likely to be attended by PATRsJoin us for the 2025 edition of Whiskey Basin Trail Runs in beautiful, Prescott, Arizona. Choose to take on the ‘full barrel’ point to point 91k, 60k, 33k, or the challenging and rewarding, 1/2 Marathon or 10k that all take place on the gorgeous Prescott Circle Trail. All distances finish at the party overlooking Watson Lake and those iconic Granite Dells where you’ll want to kick back and stay to socialize, enjoy the view, and maybe some whiskey…hey, when in Rome, right?

Cocodona 250 - May 5-10, 2025 🏜️ The original epic of the Cocodona name starts at Rock Springs Cafe in Black Canyon City and traverses a continuous 250 mile point-to-point route, ending in Flagstaff, Arizona. Arguably the most diverse 200+miler on the map. Be prepared for a life changing epic adventure. ⛰️ Sedona Canyons 125 - May 7-10, 2025 This 125-mile point-to-point adventure runs the back half of the full Cocodona course. You’ll start in Jerome, run through Sedona, and finish in Flagstaff, alongside runners competing in the 250-miler. Get the best sections of the full course with half the pain. 🌲 Elden Crest 38 - May 9-10, 2025 The last 38 miles of the full Cocodona course is a Tour-de-Flagstaff. Start at Fort Tuthill, run through beautiful Walnut Canyon, up-n-over Mt Elden, and finish in downtown Flagstaff.
