Join the Yavapai Trails Association on Saturday December 2nd at 8:00 am to work on the Trail 264 extension project from Copper Basin Rd Dispersed Site #6.

Plan for the day: After a safety discussion at 8:00 AM, we’ll hike out and get started building trail. We’ll have our break at 10:00, and then be back at the vehicles by 12:00.

Directions to Copper

Watershed trailhead is on Senator Hwy, on the left, just a bit past the entrance to Goldwater Lake. We can pick a direction (62? 396?) based on consensus, but plan on 5-6 miles.

This training run will be following the northern loop of the Elephant Mountain 50 Mile, but everyone is welcome (whether you’re racing or not). The northern portion of the course within the Tonto National Forest is quite rugged. Previewing this section of the trail before race day is very valuable.

The route

Sunday, January 14 will the the third and final preview run for the upcoming 2024 Black Canyon Trail 100K. This section will resume from the Black Canyon City Trailhead and continue to head south towards New River & Phoenix. We’ll head back into the canyons and across several more creeks before the trail generally becomes flatter towards the finish at Emery Henderson Trailhead.
